Biography
Jonathan D. Grossman, M.D.
Jonathan D. Grossman, M.D., received his bachelor’s of science degree in physiology and neuroscience from the University of California at San Diego. While in college he was an EMT, which only strengthened his desire to make medicine his career. After college, he went on to earn his medical degree from St. George’s University Medical School in Grenada, West Indies.
Upon graduation he was accepted into the internal medicine residency program at the Atlantic City Medical Center. Jonathan also completed a physical medicine and rehabilitation residency program at the the University of Minnesota. During this period he served as clinical director of the Healthy Athletes Division of the Special Olympics and was a member of the board of directors for the Minnesota Distance Running Association.
Dr. Grossman completed fellowship training in pain management at the University of Minnesota, Fairview Health Services. He is focused on physical medicine and pain management. Physical medicine and pain management specifically focuses on recovery of function and helping people get back to their daily, active lives. From original diagnosis to treatment and eventual recovery, he truly enjoys helping people live their life again. As part of Dr. Grossman’s specialization, he performs kyphoplasty and spinal cord stimulation as well as many other forms of nonoperative treatment.
He is a member of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, the Physiatric Association of Spine, Sports and Occupational Rehabilitation, as well as the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine and the American Medical Association. Dr. Grossman also serves as the sideline physician for the Fresno State Bulldogs.
In his spare time Dr. Grossman enjoys marathon running, scuba diving, and mountaineering. In fact, in January, 2007, Jonathan successfully climbed the famous Mt. Kilimanjaro in Africa and plans to summit Aconcagua, South America.
