Malcolm E. Ghazal, M.D.

Dr. Malcolm Ghazal was raised in Toronto, Canada, where he attended the University of Toronto, graduating with a bachelor of science degree in biochemistry and molecular biology in 1977. He then entered the Loma Linda University School of Medicine, where he worked toward a medical degree while also performing research in the field of protein purification as it relates to osteoporosis. He graduated from Loma Linda University in 1985, followed by an internship in Los Angeles, ending in 1986.

Dr. Ghazal completed his orthopedic surgery residency at McGill University in Montreal, Canada in 1990, followed by a fellowship program involving adult reconstructive and arthritic surgery as well as sports medicine at the University of Western Ontario in London, Ontario, Canada, which was completed in 1991.

Dr. Ghazal is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon, a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and a diplomate of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. He belongs to a number of local, national, and international orthopedic societies, and he has given numerous lectures in the fields of joint replacements, sports medicine, and industrial injuries.

His primary professional focus includes the diagnosis and management of all shoulder, hip, and knee problems, as well as sports injuries, trauma, and arthritic conditions.

He currently serves as team physician for Fresno Pacific University and Fresno State University.

Having made Fresno his home since 1992, he has pursued community activities quite actively. He enjoys numerous outdoor athletic pursuits, motor sports, and cultural arts.
