Jonathan D. Grossman, M.D.
Jonathan D. Grossman, M.D., received his bachelor of science degree in Physiology and Neuroscience from the University of California at San Diego, Revelle College. While in college, he also worked as an Emergency Medical Technician, which further strengthened his desire to pursue his career in medicine. After college, he went on to earn his Doctor of Medicine degree from St. George’s University School of Medicine in Grenada, West Indies.
Upon graduation, he was accepted into the Internal Medicine residency Transitional Year program at the Atlantic City Medical Center. Dr. Grossman also completed a Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation specialty residency program at the the University of Minnesota. During this period he also served as the Clinical Director of the Healthy Athletes Division of the Special Olympics of Minnesota. He was also an active member of the board of directors for the Minnesota Distance Running Association, writing several articles on management of sports injuries.
Dr. Grossman completed Fellowship training in Interventional and Chronic pain management at the University of Minnesota, Fairview Health Services Center, in Minneapolis, Minnesota. During his time in Fellowship, Dr. Grossman traveled to Barcelona, Spain to present an abstract on the identification and management of chronic pelvic floor pain and vulvodynia, at the Sixth Interdisciplinary World Congress on Low Back and Pelvic Pain, in November 2007. Dr. Grossman’s focus on acute and chronic pain management for both spine and non-spine conditions, allows him to emphasize the patient’s functional recovery and help them to get back to their daily, active lives. From original diagnosis, to treatment, and eventual recovery, he genuinely appreciates the opportunity to help people live their life once again. As part of Dr. Grossman’s specialization, he performs minimally invasive surgical procedures including Kyphoplasty, for the treatment of compression fractures, spinal cord stimulation to address neuropathic and radicular pain conditions and minimally invasive lumbar decompression for the management of spinal stenosis pain. He also treats a multitude of chronic pain conditions with nonoperative therapies including acupuncture and Botox.
Dr. Grossman is a member of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, the Physiatric Association of Spine, Sports and Occupational Rehabilitation, as well as the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine and the American Medical Association, the American Academy of Pain Medicine, the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians, and the International Spine Intervention Society.
