Rod S. Kraft, M.D.
Dr. Kraft was born and raised in Fresno, CA and graduated from Fresno State University in 1977 with a bachelor's degree in zoology. He played football for Fresno State and still shares the record for most touchdowns in a single game at Fresno State.
Dr. Kraft earned his medical degree in 1984 from the University of Nevada. He completed his internship and residency in family practice at the Good Samaritan Medical Center in Phoenix, Arizona. He earned the "Intern of the Year" and "Resident of the Year" awards while he was there.
He is board-certified in family medicine and sports medicine. Dr. Kraft received the Certificate of Added Qualification in sports medicine in 1993, the first year that sports medicine was recognized as a specialty. He is also a charter member of the American Medical Society of Sports Medicine. He has been, and continues to be, involved in teaching students, interns, and residents from U.C. San Francisco and U.S. Davis in the areas of sports medicine and family medicine.
Dr. Kraft returned to Fresno State University as a team physician in 1987 and continues to provide medical and nonsurgical orthopedic services to all of the intercollegiate teams. He has also served as the team physician for Clovis High School since 1987.
He currently resides in Fresno and enjoys playing tennis and spending time with his wife, four children, and one grandson. His practice is limited to family medicine and sports medicine.
