"After 42 years of enjoying down-hill skiing, I figured I was too experienced to break anything. Also, March was the worst time to break my left distal radius, because I'm a traditional fiddler, and I had several Irish gigs lined up to play the fiddle for St. Patrick's celebrations.
"The time spent healing has given me a new perspective on gratitude, patience, and support from friends. I'm grateful for the professional medical crew at Sierra Pacific Orthopedics, who have listened to my concerns and have guided me through my mending. In five days, my cast will come off, and the wisdom of my medical team will guide me through the protocol as I try to use my wrist. Meanwhile, I'm composing the "Distal Radius Breakdown," a new tune to play on my fiddle when I've healed." --Linda G.
