My Comeback Story: Lynne E.

The PT side

I say, let's hear it for the physical therapy bunch, including the office staff that copes with our whims and the PT aides and assistants who guide patients through many of their moves. Over the last 20 years, I've been held together -- or put back together -- three times by SPOC's physical therapy team. And while it's not what I'd call "fun," I will gladly say that results of its work were -- and still are -- outstanding. I underwent a total joint replacement of the left ankle in 2017, and SPOC physical therapist Becky Labandeira designed and oversaw a very successful post-surgery plan that addressed and improved my balance, flexibility and mobility. Becky likewise made possible my near-complete recovery from a sports injury to my left shoulder in 2021. I remain dazzled by her skills and demeanor. Currently I am in a regimen for a damaged sacroiliac. This also centers on balance, flexibility and mobility, and calls for substantial work on my 83-year-old core. Angie Corchado, a spine specialist, is the PT in charge and after only a few sessions I am thrilled to be nearly pain free, to walk a nearly straight line and feel that my core and my legs are much improved. I often put my body through activities you might not term "age appropriate." This includes athletics and some heavy yard work. No kidding: I am very glad to have SPOC'S PT staff in my corner.
