Dr. Jefferson Li is a board-eligible orthopedic surgeon with specialized training in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of a wide range of conditions and injuries of the elbow, hand, and wrist. His expertise includes minimally invasive arthroscopic treatment, fracture fixation and reconstruction, tendon and nerve repair, and the management of conditions such as carpal and cubital tunnel syndromes, arthritis, and rotator cuff injuries. He is committed to providing exceptional, patient-centered care, combining advanced surgical techniques with evidence-based nonsurgical approaches to help patients return to the activities they love.

Dr. Li earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Cincinnati in Cincinnati, Ohio, before completing his residency in orthopedic surgery at the UC San Francisco (UCSF) Fresno program, where he trained extensively at Community Regional Medical Center. During his residency, Dr. Li was actively involved in resident education, delivering lectures on complex topics, such as distal radioulnar joint arthritis, scapula fracture fixation, and subtrochanteric femur fracture management. Drawn to upper extremity care throughout his education, Dr. Li completed advanced fellowship training in hand surgery at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in Pennsylvania.

Dedicated to professional growth and innovation in his field, Dr. Li is a candidate member of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand (ASSH). His approach to care focuses on clear communication and tailoring treatment to each patient’s individual needs and goals, ensuring optimal outcomes and long-term function.

When Dr. Li is not seeing patients, he enjoys hiking, playing pickleball, reading, and weight lifting. He also follows Formula 1 racing, NBA basketball, and Team USA Olympic summer and winter sports.
