One day while at Water Polo practice, Jadon’s (JJ) right arm suddenly went completely “dead” and lost feeling from his shoulder all the way to his fingertips. His family met with Dr. Sharma to address this concerning issue. After a short stint of physical therapy with no improvement, JJ‘s mother took him for a follow up consult with Dr. Sharma.

Dr. Sharma decided to take immediate action to escalate Jadon‘s case by conducting an MRI. The results of this study showed that JJ had a spinal cord syrinx that descended throughout the entire length of his spinal cord. Ultimately, it was understood that the syrinx was the result of a Chiari malformation in his skull.

In a short period of time, only two weeks, from Dr. Sharma‘s intervention until surgery, JJ had a successful brain surgery that corrected the problem, prevented further progression, and restored feeling and use of his right arm.

Today, JJ has returned to sport and been given a clean bill of health from the neurosurgery team. Dr. Sharma‘s action. at a critical point in JJ‘s healthcare journey was the pivot point that led to a correct diagnosis and swift medical intervention.

I have both shoulders repaired by Dr Thaxter, my right shoulder in 2012 and the left shoulder in 2024 . Both shoulders had torn rotator cuffs and torn tendons, both were causing me considerable pain and very limited range of motion. I was having a lot of restless nights. Some nights I had to sleep in my recliner because of the discomfort sleeping on my sides caused . Dr Thaxter explained the results of my MRI , what the surgery and rehab would entail. Both surgeries and rehabs went well and today I have 2 shoulders that are back to normal and pain free.

I had an early diagnosis by Dr. Carey Tanner and was advised to check back when the finger was at no more than 45* constrained. I did exactly that in 2020 just as the Covid shutdowns occurred. Unfortunately I had to wait that out and by 2023 Dr. Kuehn had succeeded Dr. Tanner. The one finger had gone too far so I had surgery to install a "Digit Widget" for a month before surgery. Dr. Kuehne removed the tendrils in 3 fingers of my left hand and later that year, removed one large tendril from my right hand. Both were significant surgeries with some arduous therapy afterward to restore range of motion.
For a fellow like me who drives a desk but restores vintage cars and golfs, the hands are front and center to my hobbies. Thankfully, I'm better than pre-surgery by miles and my golf game is better than ever. I even had a hole in one earlier this year (photo). Plus, I was able to get one of my long term car projects on the road last year. Thanks SPOC and more specifically Dr. Kuehn. Thanks a million!

After spending most of my life in law enforcement, the physical demands of the job really took a toll on my knees. When I became a sheriff, I knew I had to find a solution to keep doing the work I loved. I did my research and turned to Sierra Pacific Orthopedics. With the help of Dr. Matthew Simons and two successful knee replacements, I was able to return to full duty.

Now in retirement, I’m still feeling the benefits of that decision. I enjoy time with my grandkids, fishing trips, and living life without the pain that once held me back.

As a former culinary instructor and lifelong sports enthusiast, Jim had spent decades on his feet. Those years left him with bone-on-bone pain and relying on daily ibuprofen just to get by. When his discomfort began to affect his ability to stay active, Jim knew it was time for a change.

Finally, after careful consideration and building his strength, Jim underwent a bilateral knee replacement performed by fellowship-trained joint replacement specialist Dr. Christopher Glezos in January 2020.

Recovery wasn’t easy, but Jim stayed the course. Now, without pain and off medication, he enjoys cycling, swimming, and walking. Most importantly, he cherishes keeping up with his six grandchildren.

I'm 81 years old and still playing golf. I had my first procedure in 2005. It was a total right hip revision by Dr. Gil. In 2011 Dr. Gil did my total left knee, then in 2023 Dr. Gil did a total left hip. I had a back fusion, L1 to S1- 5 vertebrae, done by Dr. Aryan in 2018. I still shoot in the 90's most of time in golf and take no pain killers! Without these great doctors, I wouldn't be walking much less playing golf.

After I broke my ankle and heel I was told that there was nothing that could be done. I was convinced to see Dr Glasser and so very happy I did! I told him I wanted to travel to Peru but knew that I couldn’t do that with this constantly painful foot. He told me that he could help me and he did! Had surgery last September and walked the trails of Machu Picchu! Cannot ever thank him and his staff for the caring treatment that I received!

On April 22, 2023, I was in Florida to attend my niece’s wedding. On the day of the wedding, I fell down my sister’s stairs, cartwheeling down 11 steps and blasting through a thick wooden gate. I tried to walk it off, but my left arm hurt and wasn't sure if I had broken a bone. I didn't want to bother the ladies getting ready for the wedding, so I drove myself to the nearest hospital. They took x-rays and there was no break. I asked for a sling and went back to get ready for the wedding. I then spent the next 10 months struggling to use my left arm. I was not able to use it during any type of drive through activity.
I went to my family doctor, and I was then referred to Sierra Pacific. I made an appointment with Dr Hendy. After the testing was done, it was discovered that I had 4 ligaments torn. Two completely. Dr Hendy told me that because I had waited almost a year that the repair would be more extensive and I would need donor ligaments. I then had my surgery one year and a day after my injury, April 23, 2024.
I had a great experience with the doctor, his staff as well as the surgery center staff. I was blessed with minimal pain. No higher than a 4 on the scale. Sleeping in the funky brace for 6 weeks was the toughest part of the process. Starting physical therapy was tough but I was ready to try to get back to as close to normal as possible. When I started, I could not lift a 1lb dumbbell over my head. But after a little over a year after surgery I can now lift a 15lb dumbbell and I’m continuing to improve. I’ve been blessed to be able to be more active at the gym and working on projects at the house. I was swimming with my Pastor and told him to watch this testimony that I wanted to show him. I then showed him that I could do the overhead stroke which I did not believe I would ever do again.
Thank you, Doctor Hendy, and everyone for the experience, encouragement, and support.
