Sierra Pacific Orthopedics Offering Safe Orthopedic Care On-Site and Online During COVID-19

To help prevent the spread of COVID-19 and reduce traffic and strain for hospitals and traditional urgent care facilities, Sierra Pacific Orthopedics will keep their clinics open as well as offer telemedicine as an alternative to seeing patients with bone, joint and muscle concerns. Telemedicine enables patients to safely visit with one of the practice’s specialty-trained providers from their home or office using video conference through a smartphone or tablet. Sierra Pacific Orthopedics combines this approach with safe, on-site care following local and national health authority guidelines. Those in need of orthopedic care are encouraged to call (559) 256-5200 for an appointment at their Herndon Campus or Orthopedic Urgent Care at 1630 E. Herndon Ave. or their Spruce Campus (Spine Center) at 1270 E. Spruce Ave.

“We want to do our part to reduce the stress on our health system so that emergency departments and hospitals can focus on general medical issues and helping people with illnesses,” says Sierra Pacific Orthopedics Practice President Michele M. Schulz, M.D.

“The health and safety of our patients and staff are our top priorities,” adds Dr. Schulz. “By continuing to offer safe care in our offices and Orthopedic Urgent Care clinic as well as video visits through telemedicine, we can minimize risk of potential viral exposure to as many individuals as possible.”

Through telemedicine, the practice’s specialty-trained experts will be able to diagnose over 80% of bone, joint and muscle conditions, including:

  • Achilles tendonitis.
  • Arthritis of the knee, shoulder and basal joint.
  • Bunions.
  • Calf strains.
  • Carpal tunnel syndrome and cubital tunnel syndrome.
  • Dupuytren's contracture.
  • Fingertip crush injuries.
  • Labral tears of the hip and shoulder.
  • Low-back pain.
  • Mallet finger.
  • Patellofemoral syndrome.
  • Plantar fasciitis.
  • Rotator cuff tears.
  • Sprains of the AC joint, ankle, wrist, knee and finger PIP joint.
  • Tennis elbow and golfer's elbow.
  • And more.

This new, secure technology is compliant with federal health privacy laws and offers area residents accurate, high-quality orthopedic care without risk to themselves and others as well as the practice’s providers and staff.

Sierra Pacific Orthopedics also has safety protocols in place for their hands-on services that may be necessary for further diagnosis or treatment. This includes their Orthopedic Urgent Care clinic, which offers same-day care for bone, joint and muscle injuries.
